GodIsGreater

God is Greater Homeless Ministry began with an idea (dream or vision) while reading the Miami Herald "Tropic" on July 16, 1989.  Starting at that point and continuing to now I've been building this ministry by faith.  I took grant writing classes.  I have taken small business classes and workshops.  I named the ministry God Is Greater based on scripture I John 3:20-22 that was written on a prayer card and I Incorporated it as a nonprofit organization.  I wrote my first grant this year it is pending approval.  I applied for the 501 c (3) it is also pending approval.  I am on the HUD's Title V Federal Surplus Property Program list to receive suitable property for the homeless.  I am now looking for a permanent location for this ministry as a 24hr Homeless Shelter.  I am a church member at Yohavah Eloheem Ministry regularly. I've been in attendance there for 9 years.  I am a Pastor and a Missions Coordinator.  I am not a paid staff member.  It is my service to my church.   Also, I work with other churches and volunteers to serve the homeless people.

God is Greater Homeless Ministry was founded upon Matthew 25:31-46.  In summary, Matthew 25:44 -46. Then they will also answer Jesus, saying Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, naked, or sick, or in prision, and did not minister to you?  Then He shall answer them saying Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

The Homeless Ministry of God Is Greater exist to bring the life changing message of Jesus to the homeless people of Miami in both Word and deed and to help bring as many people as possible out of homelessness.

What we do?
Every  Sunday evening we bring the message of the Gospel to the homeless in three ways.  First, when volunteers go to downtown Miami to feed the homeless a short devotional and salvation tracks  are always given and  the Gospel is clearly presented to those who are present. Second, we show them how the love of Christ compels us to love our neighbor by providing them with a meal.  Finally, we encourage those with whom we come in contact with to use the resources available to them to get out of homelessness.

Who we serve?
The women and men that the Homeless Ministry feeds fall into two main categories.  Some are the "Working Poor" and the others are those who refuse to go to the Homeless Assistance Centers for help.

Our Vision:
God is Greater's vision has always been that the Homeless Ministry will be a church and a shelter to share God's message and demonstrate it by servicing with Love, basic needs, personal needs, etc.  Also, that the homeless people will use the Word of God, our good deeds and encouragement, the Homeless center's resources  and other resources available to them to get out of homelessness and into a more stable lifestyle.
